Jewish Car Donation: A Simple Guide
Many families want their old car to do some good. Donating it to a Jewish charity turns something you no longer need into support for Jewish children and families. Chabad Cars has made this simple since 2002.
Why donate a car instead of selling it?
No listings, test drives or haggling with strangers.
No repairs needed. Running or not, we take it.
Free towing from anywhere in the U.S.
A tax-deductible receipt for your donation.
Your car becomes tzedakah that supports Jewish education, food assistance and care for those in need.
Step 1: Gather what you can
Have the year, make and model, the VIN if you can find it (on the driver's side dashboard or door frame), and the state where the car is registered. If you can't find the title, don't stop here. In many states we can order a replacement title for you, free of charge.
Step 2: Tell us about the car
Fill out the short form on our Donate Your Car page or call 1-866-770-5463. It takes about a minute, and there is no cost or obligation.
Step 3: Free pickup
We tow it for free, often the same day or the next day. You don't need to be home. Even a car that won't start is fine: see Can You Donate a Car That Doesn't Run?
Step 4: Your receipt and thank-you
You receive a tax-deductible receipt. As a thank-you, a third-party sponsor also sends a certificate for a free 2-night, 3-day hotel stay, usually 2 to 4 weeks after we receive your car. Some junk cars may not qualify.
